The Challenge
This project, in the beautiful area of Forsbrook was quite a sizeable task.
With a requirement for a boundary wall of 2.2 m x 7m, turning this flat one dimensional garden into a two tier outdoor Mediterranean style living space would produce an excavation consisting of some 65 ton of spoil.
The Solution
The first tier is a welcoming patio area in Indian stone with dwarf walling to a raised lawn. This leads down to a set of curved steps, onto the sunken patio area with a Mediterranean feel, enclosed by 9 inch double walling with Indian stone capping and render around a plinth brick to give it depth. We also added a circular stone feature set in the middle of the patio for a beautiful contrasting look. Although the weather was not to kind to us, my team and IÂ managed to complete this project in 19 days.
